Penn State clinched its third consecutive AHA regular-season title last Friday with an overtime win over Mercyhurst, 4-3. Lyndie Lobdell scored 1:15 into extra frame, lifting the Nittany Lions to the win.

Exactly one month ago, Mikhail Yegorov was between the pipes for the USHL’s Omaha Lancers in a regular-season game against the Waterloo Black Hawks. The 18-year-old Russian who was selected 49th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 2024 NHL Draft made 30 saves in a 2-1 shootout loss.

Trevor Hoskin wasted little time introducing himself to college hockey fans, as the freshman forward scored in three of his first five games and had points in seven of his first eight – racking up 4-7-11 in the stretch.

Dominik Shine has been part of the Detroit Red Wings organization going all the way back to the end of the 2016-17 season when he first joined the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins. Though he has been in the organization, he had never had a full standard contract with the NHL club.

The pride of the Nutmeg State will be on display this weekend in the annual CT Ice tournament as all four NCAA Men’s Division I teams in the state will descend on Fairfield, Conn., and the pristine Martire Family Arena at Sacred Heart University.
