Atlantic Hockey: Hobey Nominee Gadowsky, Black Knights Scoring In Bunches
Army defenseman Mac Gadowsky has 14 points over his past six games and the Black Knights have scored 29 goals over their current four-game win streak

The Army Black Knights have won four straight and exploded for 29 goals in the stretch, while they’ve quietly made their way up the AHA standings.
Army (9-15-0, 9-8-0) enters this weekend fifth in the conference with 27 points, just three behind Holy Cross and six behind third-place Niagara. Despite their early struggles, Brian Riley’s club has gained some traction in recent weeks – sweeping Mercyhurst and Air Force on home ice.
Army out-scored Mercyhurst 22-2 in the series and its 13 goals scored during Saturday's game set a new single-game AHA record.
Army’s offensive contributions have been scattered around the lineup this season and seven skaters have double-digit point totals. However, there’s been a clear leader all season in Mac Gadowsky.
The sophomore defenseman has 14 points (6-8-14) over his past six games, including five goals over his past four. Gadowsky is currently riding a six-game point streak and his 10 goals lead all NCAA defensemen. He also owns 24 points on the season, which are tied with Minnesota’s Sam Rinzel (CHI) for the most among blue liners.

Gadowsky, who comes in at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, has won back-to-back AHA Defenseman of the Week honors and was named a Hobey Baker Nominee on Wednesday. His 24 points are already a career-high after racking up 23 (4-19-23) over 28 games last season.
Gadowsky and the Black Knights will try to stay hot this weekend as Army heads to Robert Morris for a pair of games. Friday’s game is set for a 7 p.m. faceoff while Saturday will follow at 5 p.m. Both games can be streamed here on FloHockey.
