2021-22 Big Ten Conference Rankings
157 pounds
A big change in this weight class is the unfortunate news that All-American Brayton Lee will miss the postseason due to injury. Kaleb Young has come on strong to close out the regular season, picking up wins over Garrett Model and Peyton Robb to move up to the #2 spot. Will Lewan defeated Peyton Robb in sudden victory to move above Robb to the #3. Brady Berge made the drop down to 157 pounds and was a difficult guy to place in this weight class due to all of his matches coming at 165, aside from the two wins he picked up Sunday against Rider. Berge slots in here at #6 due to his body of work over the last two seasons, but it will be hard to say exactly where he might land in the Big Ten bracket at a weight where he will in all likelihood have to steal an automatic qualifier spot in order to qualify for NCAAs. Tim Stapleton is in for Minnesota in Lee's place, and he picked up a win by fall over Jashon Hubbard to put him at the #9 ranking.
