2021-22 Big Ten Conference Rankings
125 pounds
This weight has been absolutely bananas all season, and will undoubtedly be one of the most exciting weights to watch in the postseason. Nick Suriano has been impressive since making his return for Michigan, going undefeated in Big Ten duals, including major decisions over Heinselman and McKee. Suriano will be looking to end his college career on top with a second Big Ten and NCAA crown. All-Americans Eric Barnett and Drew Hildebrandt each have only one conference loss on the season. Barnett grabs the #2 spot here as he's been on the mat all season and Hildebrandt didn’t make his return until January, but that could go either way. Drake Ayala is another hard one to rank in this weight due to the fact he was off the mat for about a month until he made his return Sunday against Nebraska. Ayala gets slotted at #5 here based on his loss to Heinselman and his wins over Devin Schroder and Michael DeAugustino. Despite being at the #8, McKee has shown his ability to outperform his seed before, finishing third at NCAAs last year. This one could go plenty of different ways, and will be one of the top weights to watch throughout conference weekend. Is there a result we might have missed?
