2024 Olympic Wrestling Rankings

125 kg - Amir Zare

Amir Zare is the clear #1 ranked wrestler at 125 kg and is the returning world champion with notable victories over Taha Akgul and Geno Petriashvili. Zare also won a world title in 2021 and took home bronze at the Tokyo Olympics and 2023 World Championships.

Mason Parris is the returning bronze medalist and will be the #3 seed at worlds. If seeds hold, Parris will wrestle Geno Petriashvili in the semifinals. This will be a rematch of their semifinal match at last year's worlds where Parris lost a close, 8-6 bout to Petriashvili. Despite that win, Petriashvili recently lost to Yusup Batirmurzaev at a Ranking Series event in June. Then Parris went on to defeat Batirmurzaev in the finals - for that reason, Parris is ranked ahead of Batirmurzaev and Petriashvili.

As always, we’d love to hear your feedback - if you have thoughts or questions send them over by email to Jonathan.Kozak@flosports.tv or @KozakJon on Twitter.
