Springfield Football has had another dominant season in the NEWMAC, with another conference title and an undefeated season. Still, for the last two years, they have been knocked out of the tournament by Ithaca in back-to-back seasons in 2022-2023.

North Central started the season atop the rankings, and they ended it the same way.

The 2024 NCAA Division III football playoffs are officially underway, with the brackets now set for what promises to be another thrilling postseason. Recently expanded to 40 teams, 28 were made up of each Division III football conference winner while the remaining 12 teams were decided at-large.

No. 6 Susquehanna Football finished another Landmark Championship season in 2024 when it beat Lycoming 55-1 and finished 9-1 on the season. Now the River Hawks await their playoff opponent in Round 1 next week.

We are coming down to the wire for the regular season in college football, with this week being the final week for both Division II and III.

What a treat, in the final weekend of Division III regular season football, we get to watch a battle between the top two teams in the NEWMAC: No. 20 Springfield College vs SUNY Maritime kicks off at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, November 16 in Throggs Neck, NY.

It comes as no great shock at this juncture that the Division III landscape remains largely unchanged this week, a testament to the consistency of the teams within this division.

There are three weeks left in the regular season, and we are starting to get an idea of which teams will make it to the playoffs. Others will need every last minute left in the season to have a chance to make the postseason.

No. 1 North Central won big against Carroll, 56-3, to stay undefeated on the season and continue to cement their spot at the top of the rankings.

No. 23-ranked Springfield Football (6-0) faces NEWMAC rival Salve Regina (4-2) in a massive conference showdown on Oct. 26.

After cracking the top 25, Springfield College could be moving up in the world.

Springfield College (5-0, 2-0) debuted in the NCAA Division III rankings this week and now they face rival MIT at Stagg Field at noon. Springfield College is the highest-ranked, and only ranked, team in the NEWMAC.

No. 1 North Central (Ill.) beat Millikin 70-14 to remain undefeated in NCAA Division III football, while No. 2 SUNY Cortland beat Utica 45-7 in Week 7 of the season.

No. 10 Susquehanna Football moved to 4-1 on the season with a 48-14 win over Catholic in Landmark Football action in Week 6 of the college football season.

Susquehanna Football bounce back from its loss to No. 2 SUNY Cortland in Week 4 and picked up a 34-21 win over Western New England in Springfield, Ma. on Sept. 28.
