A native of Elkhart, Indiana, Carroll won a Fargo junior freestyle national title in the summer of 2021. Carroll, while highly decorated has yet to win a high school state title missing out on his freshman year due to injury and his sophomore postseason due to transfer rules. Carroll still has managed to put together a top tier resume in spite of all of this. Carroll had won numerous titles at the youth level in tournaments such as the 2015 Indiana youth folkstyle state tournament, the South Bend freestyle and greco open, and the 2016 HYWAY state championships.

On the Senior level, the US Open will set the stage for Final X, but there's plenty to watch at the U17 and U20 divisions as well. The U17 division will conclude with a best-of-three series that will decide the World Team, shake up the high school rankings, and establish some wrestlers' cases to be in Who's Number One.
