#1 High School Senior, Christian Carroll, Flips Commitment
The top-ranked senior in the country is headed to Stillwater.
The Cowboys picked up a huge commitment from the #1 wrestler in the class of 2023. Christian Carroll announced his decision to attend Oklahoma State via social media Monday afternoon.
It has been an interesting recruiting saga for Carroll. The Indiana native originally committed to Illinois when he was a sophomore. Then, on November 1st of 2021, he flipped to Penn. With signing day just around the corner, Oklahoma State is sure to be locked in.
Carroll earned his #1 overall ranking by winning Super 32, Fargo, and making a Greco U20 World Team among other things. Watch Carroll take out #2 in the country, Iowa commit Ben Kueter, in the Fargo finals below.
Currently competing at 220 lbs, he projects as a college heavyweight, which the Cowboys will be in need of. Oklahoma State was already in fifth place in the 2023 recruiting class rankings without Carroll. With the addition of Carroll, John Smith and co. will be bringing five Big Boarders in from the class of 2023. Other recruits include:
- #4 Brayden Thompson (184)
- #22 Cael Hughes (133)
- #32 AJ Heeg (184/197)
- #63 Jersey Robb (197)
