OTTAWA – The 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship is among the most memorable I’ve covered. The storylines were incredible, the results sometimes shocking and we were introduced to so many personalities over the course of the tournament that hockey fans will remember for a long time.

OTTAWA – If history were easy to make, there wouldn’t be much point in it. For USA Hockey, it’s been 49 years of World Junior Championships and now, for the first time in their history, they have gone back-to-back as World Junior Championship gold medalists.

OTTAWA – As Team USA celebrated its second straight trip to the gold-medal game at the World Junior Championship thanks to a win over Czechia in the semifinals, goaltender Trey Augustine (DET) made history.

OTTAWA – USA will be playing for back-to-back gold medals for the first time in their history when they take on Finland in the final at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship. After beating Sweden for gold last year, Team USA will take on the team that ousted the Swedes from the final this time around.

Both semifinal games have concluded at the 2025 IIHF World Juniors Championships, and the bronze and gold medal games are now set.

Team USA secured a 4-1 victory over Czechia to advance to the gold medal game.

The stage was set for a thrilling semifinal clash at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championships as Sweden took on Finland for a spot in the gold medal game. Finland would eventually win out in overtime after a hard-fought game, defeating their long-time rival Sweden.
