The 2025 PIAA Pennsylvania Team Wrestling State Championships are Feb. 7-8, in Altoona, Pa. While many great teams will be fighting their way to the championship matches, two powerhouse teams will highlight the tournament.

The nation’s two highest-ranked teams, #1 Faith Christian Academy and #2 Bishop McCort, will bring their best to the competition. Bishop McCort has three wrestlers in the nation's top 20 pound-for-pound rankings, with two, Jax Forrest and Bo Bassett, in the top five.

In a battle for not only the Pennsylvania state title, but the rights to the #1 spot in the entire United States, Faith Christian will look for a repeat of its 2024 PIAA Championship win over Bishop McCort in the finals, 46-18.

Leading up to the state tournament, Bishop McCort recently recorded a 59-6 win over Penns Valley in the District 6-AA championship this year. Faith Christian Academy claimed its own District 1-AA championship, leaving its opponent, Bristol, scoreless in a 78-0 win.
