2024-25 National High School Girls Wrestling Team Rankings

The committee which selects the National Girls High School Rankings, which includes representation from USA Wrestling, FloWrestling and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum, has published its January 2025 National Girls High School Team Rankings.

This ranking includes public and private schools at the high school level from all states, including states with official girls state championship events as well as those with unofficial girls state championships.

For the January 2025 rankings, the committee has expanded its selection to the Top 50 high school teams in the nation and has expanded the number of honorable mention teams to 40 programs. 

Remaining as the No. 1 ranked team is the nation is Wyoming Seminary (Pa.), which placed second in the Midlands Championships competing against college teams. Individual athletes from Wyoming Seminary have competed well in other college and high school events.

There has been some slight movement in the top 10 teams, based upon performance in the early season tournaments and dual meets. Moving up to No. 2 is Bixby (Okla.), which won the team title at the Women of Ironman in Ohio. The No. 3 ranked team is Olentangy Orange (Ohio), which was second at the Women of Ironman and won the respected FIGHT tournament in Ohio. No. 4 is Cleveland (Tenn.), third at the Women of Ironmen and winner of other tournaments in its region. The new No. 5 team is Broken Arrow (Okla.), winner of the Diamond Duals in Texas and the Jay Border Wars in Oklahoma. 

Rounding out the top 10 teams are No. 6 Edmond North (Okla.), No. 7 Conroe Woodlands College Park (Texas), No. 8 Toppenish (Wash.), No. 9. Moanalua (Hawaii) and No. 10 Cedar Falls (Iowa).  Broken Arrow and Cedar Falls are the only new teams to reach a Top 10 ranking in January.

There are 38 states represented in the January 2025 national ranking. California has the most ranked teams with seven. Pennsylvania, Texas and Iowa are next with six ranked teams. Tennessee has five ranked teams. States with four ranked teams include Oklahoma and Missouri. 

The committee will have two more team rankings this season, in early February and the final rankings in mid-March. By the end of the season, the committee will rank the top 50 programs and expand honorable mention to 50 additional programs.

In order to grow this program, we need more input from coaches, parents, administrators, journalists and fans to have the strongest and most accurate rankings possible. If you believe your team should be ranked, please provide information to the committee right away.

The long-term goal of the committee and others involved is to strengthen the existing multi-state competitions and develop more large multi-state competitions during the season, where nationally ranked teams and other strong programs can come together to challenge each other. This will also help to better promote the best teams and best athletes in the nation.
