2024-25 Dan Hodge Trophy Award Rankings
2025 Dan Hodge Trophy Rankings
This is the craziest Hodge race I can ever remember. Mitchell Mesenbrink had a phenomenal season that would win the Dan Hodge Trophy Award some years, but Carter Starocci and Wyatt Hendrickson both had higher dominance scores with tougher competition. You can make an argument for both Starocci and Hendrickson to win and not be wrong.
It's razor thin, but I'm giving the edge to Carter Starocci. I understand Hendrickson had more pins, a higher dominance score, and beat an Olympic champion. Maybe I'm overanalyzing, but it was Starocci getting two wins over both Parker Keckeisen and Max McEnelly that put him over the top for me. Even when he didn't have to, Starocci chose to put it on the line against Keckeisen in the All-Star Classic and didn't give up a takedown to him either time he faced him.
Hendrickson gave up a takedown to Jack Forbes of Utah Valley and back points to Cohlton Schultz. I realized that doesn't mean much given his overall season, but I have to split hairs here. I believe Starocci only gave up a takedown to McEnelly and never gave up nearfall.
