2024-25 NCAA DI Wrestling Rankings
133 - Drake Ayala
We chose to remove Ryan Crookham because he hasn’t wrestled in two months. The earliest we’ll see Crookham again is at EIWA’s - if he wrestles there, he’ll likely return back to the top spot. With Crookham’s absence, Ayala takes over the top spot at 133 pounds. Ayala is currently 14-1 on the year with his lone loss coming against #4 Tyler Knox back in week 2 of the season. Since that loss, Ayala has won 13 matches in a row including ranked wins over #3 Evan Frost, #31 Ethan Berginc, #18 Zan Fugitt, #2 Lucas Byrd, #15 Jacob Van Dee, and #11 Tyler Wells.
Zeth Romney drops to #7 after losing to #6 Nasir Bailey and unranked Markel Baker. Romney holds at #7 because of his wins on the season over #8 Braxton Brown and #3 Evan Frost.
Blake Boarman drops a spot after losing to TK Davis but holds at #21 for his previous wins on the season over #22 Cleveland Belton and #6 Nasir Bailey. TK Davis comes into the rankings at #33 for his win over Boarman. Davis is kept from entering the rankings higher because of losses on the year to #32 Kyle Burwick, #31 Ethan Berginc, and unranked Kyle Montaperto.
Markel Baker is right on the bubble but fails to enter the top 33 this week. Though Baker’s win over Zeth Romney was significant, that is currently his only ranked win of the season. Beyond that, Baker has unranked losses to Lucian Brink and Dustin Norris. If Baker records another ranked win, he’ll likely enter the top 33.
