It’s almost college wrestling season! Before the 2022-23 Division 1 season kicks off, get to know the wrestlers who are carrying the longest winning streaks into this year.

With six of eight All-Americans returning, including the champ, 184 is going to look very similar to last season. The big question is: can anyone catch Penn State’s Aaron Brooks? The fourth-year senior is 35-1 in the past two seasons and the only man to defeat him in that time has left.

U20 Nationals (formerly known as UWW Junior Nationals) is one of my favorite age-level tournaments every year. The top high school upperclassmen get to test themselves against the best first or second year college guys who are often hungry to compete coming out of redshirt. It's the first step in making the Junior World Team as the winner of this event will earn an automatic berth to the best-of-three wrestle-off series against the World Team Trials challenge tournament champion in June.

A fourth-place finish at Big 12s and 14th at NCAAs might have left Oklahoma State fans shaking their heads after this season, but the future is bright in Stillwater. The Cowboys get a national champion back next year and will incorporate some new blue-chip recruits to a lineup that needs a spark. Not even factoring in the freshmen, OK State currently sits at #4 in the way too early 2023 NCAA rankings.

This weekend, Lincoln, Nebraska plays host to the U23 World Team Trials, an event featuring some top NCAA athletes vying for World Team spots.
