Dan Gable completed his 21-season head coaching career at the University of Iowa in the most dramatic way. The Hawkeyes were expected to place second to Oklahoma State at the 1997 NCAA Championships -- a team that had defeated them 21-13 at the National Duals. Iowa rallied to complete one of the most improbable runs in sports history. Gable led his team to his 15th and final national title with five champions, six finalists, eight All-Americans, and a record 170 points. The tournament was held at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa, which was 10-minutes from where Gable grew up in Waterloo.
