Haakon Peterson lives in Wisconsin and is a member of Sebolt Wrestling Academy in Mason City, Iowa. He also trains freestyle and greco at Combat Wrestling Club in Blue River, WI. In 2021, Peterson was a Fargo U16 freestyle runner-up and a greco champion at 88 pounds.
