Hushstyn's international career started all the way back in 2010 when he finished fifth at the youth olympic games. A year later, Hushtyn tried his hands at the senior level for the Ali Aliev tournament, but would not make his way back until 2014. Hushtyn competed at the junior level in between that time, winning the European championships and going on to represent Bulgaria at the junior worlds.
