WEEKLY AWARDS
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Keishana Washington, Drexel
Graduate | Guard | Pickering, Ontario / Durham Prep
Washington averaged 26.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per contest to lead Drexel in a pair of games.
On Saturday, she netted 37 points on 10-of-17 shooting (58.8%), while setting season-highs with seven rebounds, five assists and four steals to lead Drexel to a 66-61 win over Maryland Eastern Shore.
It was Washington’s second 30-plus scoring output of the year and a single-game high in the conference this season.
Earlier in the week, she contributed 16 points with two assists, one rebound and one steal, despite a 77-74 setback to La Salle.
After both performances, Washington has reached double figures scoring in 37 consecutive games.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Kylie Lavelle, Drexel
Freshman | Forward | Moosic, Pennsylvania / Riverside
Lavelle averaged 21 points on 58.8% shooting (17-of-29) and 7.5 rebounds per game in a pair of contests for the Dragons.
She set a Drexel freshman record by scoring 31 points against La Salle on Tuesday. She shot 12-of-19 (63.2%) from the floor and pulled down a game-high nine rebounds in the effort.
The freshman forward followed the performance with 11 points, six rebounds and one block in a win over Maryland Eastern Shore.
Lavelle has reached double-figures in all three games to begin her collegiate career, while her 62 points are the most through three games by a freshman in Drexel program history.
CONFERENCE NOTES
NINE TEAMS EARN WINS IN WEEK TWO: Nine CAA teams earned wins during the second week of the 2022-2023 women's basketball season, as the league posted a 10-8 record, improving to 24-20 overall this year.
Towson moved to 2-0 with a win last week and is the final undefeated team in the conference.
Delaware was the lone team to collect multiple wins, going 2-0 and picking up its first home win of the year.
Elon, Hofstra, North Carolina A&T and UNCW also went unbeaten in their lone contests during the week, while Drexel, Northeastern and Stony Brook also earned tallies in the win column.
HOME SWEET HOME: Home-court advantage has proved to be a factor in the CAA early this season, as league teams have gone 17-4 in their home gyms over the first two weeks of the year.
Nine teams are unbeaten at home, with 12 having at least one win, and five have multiple wins on their home courts.
30 FOR 30: Drexel has had at least one 30-point scorer in each of its first three games, which accounts for all three 30-point performances in the league this season.
Keishana Washington has the top two scoring outputs from any player in the conference, scoring 34 points in the season opener and netting 37 this past week.
Additionally, Kylie Lavelle tallied a Drexel freshman record with a season-best 31 points in just her second career game.
CAA IN THE COLLEGE INSIDER MID-MAJOR TOP 25: Five CAA teams were recognized in the latest edition of the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll.
Drexel remained ranked seventh, while Delaware, Stony Brook and Towson received votes for the second time this season.
Joining the party is William & Mary, which received votes following the first week of the regular season.
DICKERSON DAVIS, JENKINS NOTCH FIRST CAREER WINS: A pair of CAA first-year head coaches notched their first career wins during the opening week of the 2022-2023 women's season.
Erin Dickerson Davis led William & Mary to a 79-64 victory over Navy in the Tribe's season opener, while Sarah Jenkins guided Delaware to an 82-62 season-opening win against Longwood.

TEAM NOTES
Charleston
• Charleston dropped its lone contest of the week, falling in its first road game this season. The Cougars suffered an 82-72 setback against Tarleton State. It begins a three-game road trip for the cougars.
• Jada Logan poured in a career-high 28 points, going 11-of-20 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe in the matchup. Logan added four rebounds, two assists and two steal in the effort.
The senior guard has scored in double figures in all three games this season and surpassed 20 points in back-to-back games.
• Jaila Roberts scored a season-high 22 points against Tarleton State, after just six combined in the first two games this season.
Roberts sunk 4-of-9 attempts from 3-point range and added a team-high four assists, three rebounds and one steal.
• Adaora Onwumelu had a game-high 10 rebounds to tie her career-best, while adding six points.
Onwumelu has collected 10 rebounds in two of the last three contests.
Delaware
• Delaware defeated VCU (63-50) on Tuesday, before moving to 2-0 for the week with a road victory over Vermont (58-53) on Friday.
The Blue Hens improved to 2-0 on the road this season and 3-1 overall.
• Kharis Idom reached double figures in both contests for the Blue Hens.
After recording a season-high 10 points against VCU, the grad transfer improved on the performance, leading Delaware with 13 points at Vermont. She also added her first two steals this season against the Catamounts.
• On Tuesday, Michelle Ojo recorded her first career double-double to lead Delaware to victory over VCU. Ojo tallied career-best totals for points and rebounds, recording 15 points and a game-high 10 boards.
• Jewel Smalls surpassed 1,000 career points with a layup against Vermont. She totaled 10 points throughout the week and added 17 rebounds.
Smalls had a season-high 11 boards to lead Delaware at Vermont.
Drexel
• Drexel went 1-1, falling to La Salle 77-74 at the buzzer on Tuesday, before bouncing back with a 66-61 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday.
• Keishana Washington averaged 26.5 points per game to lead the Dragons. She posted her second 30-point game this season in the Drexel victory.
Washington netted 37 points, while adding season-highs with seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.
• Kylie Lavelle added 21 points per game on 58.8% shooting over the week.
On Tuesday, she set a Drexel freshman record with 31 points on 12-for-19 shooting, adding nine rebounds and one block.
Lavelle contributed 11 points and six rebounds Saturday and has scored in double figures in all three games to begin her career.
• Maura Hendrixson set a career-high with 10 assists against La Salle, marking the first double-digit assist performance in the CAA this season.
She also tallied eight assists in the victory over UMES and has at least seven assists in every game this season.
Elon
• Elon won its second game in a row following a 75-58 win over UNCG. Four Phoenix players scored in double figures to down their local rival.
• Vanessa Taylor paced Elon with 14 points, shooting 5-of-7 from the floor, including 2-of-2 from long range. It marks her first double-digit scoring output this season, and she added six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.
• Lenaejha Evans scored in double figures for the second straight game, contributing 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting and five rebounds.
The Phoenix is 2-0 this season when Evans scores at least 10 points.
• Kamryn Doty and Bria Harmon matched career highs in the effort with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Doty also tallied a career-high four steals in the contest.
Hampton
• Hampton dropped a pair of games to begin a six-game road trip.
The Lady Pirates fell to a pair of Commonwealth rivals, with an overtime setback against Richmond (68-65), after falling at Liberty (70-48).
• Camryn Hill averaged 23 points per game to pace the Lady Pirates and added 5.5 rebounds per contest.
Hill scored over 20 points in back-to-back games, with a season-high 25 points and five rebounds against Richmond. She had a team-high 21 points and six boards at Liberty.
• Victoria Mason led the team with 6.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game over the two contests.
Mason tallied a team-high six assists and three steals Thursday, before a season-high seven assists and four steals Sunday.
• Laren VanArsdale contributed 9.0 points per game, including a season-high 11 points against Richmond. It's the first double-figure performance for VanArsdale since March 2020. She missed last season due to injury.
Hofstra
• Hofstra won its home opener over North Carolina Central, 69-60, and picked up its first win this season, improving to 1-2 on the year.
• Rosi Nicholson matched a team-high with 13 points, shooting 5-of-8 from the field, including 3-for-5 from long range.
Nicholson also grabbed a season-high seven rebounds, with three coming on the offensive glass.
• Ally Knights had her best performance in a Hofstra uniform, scoring 13 points with a team-high five assists, five rebounds and one steal.
Knights went 4-for-5 from three-point range, tying the most in a game for the Pride this season.
• Brandy Thomas pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds and added a season-high four steals with three assists in the effort.
Thomas has at least 10 boards in two of the Pride's three games this year.
Monmouth
• Monmouth dropped a road contest to Loyola (Maryland) 61-59 on Wednesday evening. The Hawks held a three-point lead entering the fourth quarter but were outscored 21-16 over the final frame.
• Lucy Thomas came off the bench to lead Monmouth with 14 points. She shot 6-of-8 (75.0%) from the floor, while adding a team-high six rebounds and one block.
• Anaya Coleman did a little bit of everything. She finished with 13 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals. It was a season-high in steals for the freshman, while she matched a personal best in assists.
• Brianna Tinsley and Amiya Carroll had season highs in the effort. Tinsley matched her season-high with four assists, and Carroll had a season-high four rebounds, while playing a season-best 13 minutes.
North Carolina A&T
• North Carolina A&T defeated Mid-Atlantic Christian 89-38, improving to 2-1 this season, as head coach Tarrell Robinson tied the North Carolina A&T program record for all-time wins with 191.
• D'Mya Tucker nearly recorded a triple-double with 13 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists. The rebound and assist totals mark career-highs for Tucker, who has scored in double figures in back-to-back contests.
• Jordyn Dorsey paced five Aggies in double figures with a career-high 16 points. Dorsey shot 7-of13 from the floor and added six rebounds with two assists.
Dorsey has reached double figures scoring in two of the first three games and is one shy of her season total from last year.
• Maleia Bracone, Talia Davis (13) and Nyah Willis (10) also scored in double figures. In addition to her 10 points, Bracone added nine rebounds, three assists and one steal in the effort.
UNCW
• UNCW earned its first victory this season with an 84-59 win over Mount Olive on Thursday.
The Seahawks, 1-2, recorded their first victory under interim head coach Tina Martin, with five players scoring in double figures for the first time in eight seasons.
• Mary McMillan led the charge with a career-high 21 points. It makes back-to-back double-digit scoring outputs for McMillan, who converted 11-of-15 attempts from the free-throw line and added two assists and two steals in the contest.
• Carrie Gross contributed 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor.
It was the second double-figure performance this season for Gross and three points shy of her career-high, which came in the season opener.
• Jayde Gamble tallied a career-high seven steals in the contests and also was in double figures for the second straight game, adding 12 points.
Gamble is 12-of-14 (85.7%) from the floor in her past two games.
Northeastern
• Northeastern went 1-1, defeating New Hampshire 63-51 on Saturday, after dropping a closely contested game against Boston College (64-59) on Wednesday.
• Gemima Motema scored in double figures in both games and has done so in all four games for the Huskies.
She tallied a season-high 21 points with four rebounds, three assists and three steals against Boston College and added 10 points, six rebounds and three assists versus New Hampshire.
• Derin Erdogan contributed 15 points in each contest, leading the Huskies in scoring against New Hampshire. It marks her second and third double-figure scoring performances this season.
• Camille Clement added a season-high eight points in the victory, shooting 3-of-4 from the floor and hitting two of her three attempts from long range. It was one point shy of her career-high.
Stony Brook
• Stony Brook split a pair of contests last week, erasing a 26-point deficit to defeat Iona on Monday, 73-71, before dropping a road contest to St. John's (78-52) on Saturday.
• Nairimar Vargas-Reyes posted double-doubles in both games. She tallied 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds in the victory before a season-high 12 points and 11 rebounds on Saturday.
They are the first two double-doubles in her career.
• Annie Warren scored 28 points to lead the Seawolves in the victory, adding seven rebounds and three steals.
Additionally, Gigi Gonzalez poured in a career-high 24 points and paced the offense with three assists. She contributed three rebounds and three steals against Iona.
• Shamarla King scored a career-high 13 points to lead Stony Brook in the category against St. John's and added six rebounds. It marks her first time in double figures this season.
Towson
• Towson improved to 2-0 on the season with a 68-58 road victory over Saint Francis. It was the first true road game for the Tigers this season and the first of five contests away from SECU Arena.
Towson is the final team in the conference without a loss this season.
• Kylie Kornegay-Lucas filled the stat sheet for the second consecutive game, recording a game-high 19 points, eight rebounds, five steals, three assists and two blocks. The five steals match a career-high for the redshirt junior.
• Anissa Rivera scored in double figures for the second straight game, posting a season-best 15 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor. She added five rebounds and two steals in the effort.
• All nine players to see the court scored for the Tigers. Alexia Nelson scored a season-high nine off the bench, while Quinzia Fulmore contributed eight points and six rebounds.
William & Mary
• William & Mary dropped its first game this season, falling to commonwealth rival Old Dominion 59-43 on the road Tuesday night.
The Tribe started 2-0 under first-year head coach Erin Dickerson Davis with two wins last week.
• Sydney Wagner paced the Tribe with 12 points in the effort, while adding three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Wagner has had at least 10 points and two steals in all three games this season
• After a career-high 11 points on Friday, Madison McGee added 10 points on Tuesday. It marks the first time in her career she has scored at least 10 points in back-to-back games.
McGee was 2-for-2 from the field and went 6-of-7 from the free-throw line, while contributing five rebounds.
• Bre Bellamy paced the Tribe on the glass, recording seven rebounds. She has at least seven rebounds in all three games this season.
Bellamy added six points and one steal in the effort.
