Val Solorio On The Move From Florida To Pennsylvania
Val Solorio is moving from Florida to Pennsylvania to finish her high school wrestling career.
Val Solorio is going back to her roots. Solorio, currently ranked #24 in the national pound-for-pound rankings, started wrestling in Western Pennsylvania before moving to Panama City, Florida, to compete for Mosely High School.
She and her family are moving to Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, where the #2 ranked 100-pounder in the country will wrestle for Canon-McMillan High School. The school has a full girls' team even though Pennsylvania has not sanctioned the sport yet.
Solorio, a junior, is a 2021 16U National champion who competed in the first two Who's Number One women's cards (2021 and 2022). She'll have plenty of quality training opportunities in her new location with Quest School of Wrestling, Wrestling With Virtue, and Young Guns nearby.
Her next competition is Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals in Des Moines on November 27-30.
