Sun, surf and softball are on deck with the Premier Girls Fastpitch National Championships coming to Southern California. 

The 18U PGF National Championships open July 22 in Orange County and will feature teams from all corners of the continental United States. 

In addition to the nationwide representation of the field, the country's premier college programs boast signees and commits on the various clubs' rosters competing for the PGF crown. 

Among the stacked lineups appearing in the OC is that of the Tampa Mustangs, featuring a bevy of committed 2022 and 2023 prospects, as well as rising talent for 2024. The Mustangs lineup includes pitcher Kylah Berry, who signed with 2021 Women's College World Series competing James Madison. 

The Mustangs pitching staff also includes 2023 Army commit Libby Levendoski and lefty Chloe Fariello. Overall, it's a group Tampa coach T.J. Goelz is excited to send to the circle. 

"All have great command, don't walk hitters and all give us a different look," Goelz wrote in an email. "All four will have a chance to beat some really good teams, and I expect them to do so.  We will be underrated, underestimated in this area which is also - just how we like it."

Tampa's lineup also features 2023 Florida Gators commit Cassidy McLellan in an outfield with UCF signee Olivia Elliott. 

From Florida to the other side of the continent in Arizona, Storm Fastpitch heads into California with an equally impressive roster of prospects. 

The Arizona Storm's crop of commits includes a duo headed to 2022 WCWS programs: Northwestern-bound Bridget Donahey and national runner-up Texas signee Viviana Martinez. 

Jocelyn Briski of the Storm is a 2023 pledge to Alabama, and she's not the only high-profile future Tide player in action at the PGF National Championships. Headlining the Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier roster is outfielder Larissa Preuitt.

Prueitt is a finalist for the All-USA Today Softball Player of the Year, to be announced July 31, one day after the PGF National Championships culminates with the All-American Game. 

The All-American Game promises 40 of the nation's best seniors in one contest, with softball legends Jennie Finch and Crystl Bustros coaching the two sides. 

Expect to see some of the senior talent leading the Beverly Bandits lineup in action for the week prior get a shot in the All-American Game, as well. 

Representing the Upper Midwest, the Beverly Bandits look to win the club's seventh PGF title. With a roster that includes Wisconsin signees Emily Bojan and Paytn Monticelli, the team will be in contention for the 2022 crown. 

Hotshots Premier National also should figure into the championship conversation. 

The Texas-based club features Kasidi Pickering, a recruit of two-time defending NCAA champion Oklahoma, as well as signee of perennial powerhouse UCLA, Kennedy Powell. 

Powell is an All-American Game honoree. 

Another of the PGF National Championships' standouts closed the 2021-2022 prep season at the pinnacle of the sport.

Keagan Rothrock, a Florida Gators signee and pitcher for the North Carolina-based Lady Dukes, was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year.
