Thursday through Sunday, May 6-9, 2021

Round of 32 - Rahul Rasim (BUL)

Jordan Oliver had a slow start against Rasim and was ahead on criteria 1-1 at the end of the first period. Then in the second he picked up his attacks and earned two step-out points and a takedown to go ahead 5-1. Rasim would lose a challenge on the second takedown and pick up a step-out point but it was not enough. Jordan Oliver won 6-2 and advanced to the round of 16.

Round of 16 - Junsik Yun (KOR)

Oliver got an early step-out point and then another right at the end of the first period to go up 2-0 at the break. Oliver would get another early step-out point before giving up a takedown. Oliver would counter with a little over a minute to go in the match with a takedown of his own and went ahead 5-2. Then with 30 seconds left, Yun closed the gap with a takedown to make it 5-4. Despite late attacks by Yun, Oliver would defend and hold on to win 5-4 and advance to the quarter-finals!

Quarter-Finals - Gor Ogannesyan (UKR)

It was a slow start to the match with no scoring through the first 2 minutes. Ogannesyan went on the shot-clock and was unable to score. Oliver went up 1-0 with 45 seconds remaining in the first period and that was the score at the break - 1-0 Oliver at the end of the first period.

Ogannesyan was able to get a quick takedown on the edge of the mat at about 15 seconds into the second period to go up 2-1. Oliver got put on the shot-clock with just over a minute left in the match and was unable to score before time ran out. But just as the shot-clock point went on the board Oliver got a takedown to go up 3-3 on criteria with less than 30 seconds left. And that's how the match would end! Jordan Oliver moves on to the semi-finals and is 1 win away from qualifying for the Olympics!

Semi-Finals - Magomedmurad Gadzhiev (POL)

Jordan Oliver's opponent standing in the way of the Olympics is Magomedmurad Gadzhiev (POL). He is a two-time world medalist placing silver in 2017 and bronze in 2019.

Gadzhiev was able to control center from the start and use pressure to force Oliver toward the edge of the mat. He got a step-out 1 minute in to go ahead 1-0 and another a minute later to go ahead 2-0. Oliver got hit with 2 passivity calls due to Gadzhiev's ability to control center and Oliver went on the shot-clock shortly after the second step-out. Time on the shot-clock ran out and Oliver went down 3-0 at the end of the first period.

Oliver picked up his attacks in the second and was able to get to a single leg but was stopped with a chest wrap from Gadzhiev-still 3-0 with 1:00 to go in the match. Oliver got in on a double from space and scores a takedown with 48 seconds to make the score 3-2. After multiple attacks, Oliver is unable to get to another leg and time runs out, Oliver loses 3-2 and will wrestle for bronze.

Bronze Medal Match - Niurgun Skriabin (BLR)

Jordan Oliver forfeited in the bronze medal match and placed 5th at the 2021 World Olympic Games Qualifier.
