Wednesday, Feb 10 - Thursday, Feb 11

The event will feature between four to six men’s freestyle teams, featuring elite athletes, competing for $60,000 in prize money. Each team will have six athletes, covering the six men’s freestyle weight classes (with a 2 kg allowance per day), plus 2-3 alternates.

U.S. athletes eligible for America’s Cup will include athletes who will attend a USA Wrestling Freestyle Training Camp in Concord, including numerous National Team athletes and Olympic Trials qualifiers. Teams will be selected once the potential participants are finalized, in a manner which will provide each team with a competitive lineup.

The championship team will receive $18,000 (with $3,000 per weight class). The runner-up team will earn $12,000 ($2,000 per weight class) and the third-place team will receive $6,000 ($1,000 per wrestler).

There will be scoring bonuses given to the top three wrestlers at each weight class in the tournament. Each first-place wrestler will receive $2,000 ($12,000 total), with each second place wrestler getting $1,000 ($6,000 total) and each third-place wrestler earning $500 ($3,000 total). The placements will be determined by which athletes have scored the most classification points in total during the entire tournament.

Depending upon the number of teams, the structure of the event will vary. The first day, Wednesday, Feb. 10, will featured round-robin dual meet competition. The second day, Thursday, Feb. 11, will include placement dual meets. The plan will be for each team to get up to five matches over the two days.

The format will be similar to the RTC Cup, a successful dual meet event also was broadcast by FloWrestling, as well as the upcoming Captains’ Cup for women, which is another FloWrestling broadcast.

The Titan Mercury Wrestling Club has been an active leader in the development and structure of these three world-class events. The dual meets at America’s Cup will be held one at a time, to allow fans to enjoy all of the high-level action over both days.

More information on the specific athletes who will be competing will be released prior to the event.

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, February 10 and Thursday, February 11 for America’s Cup, live on FloWrestling.
