NFL rosters across the league feature former Coastal Athletic Association stars: From Colby Sorsdal in Detroit, Kobie Turner and Jared Verse teaming on the defensive line in Los Angeles, Dylan Laube in Las Vegas, there's no shortage of CAA representation in the pros.

The 2025 NFL draft will introduce more CAA standouts to the league. Get to know a few former Coastal playmakers ready to make the leap in this year's class.

OL Charles Grant, William & Mary

Charles Grant headlines the CAA's class of draft-eligible prospects in 2025 and should be among the first FCS and non-autonomy conference FBS players selected.

Grant's All-American seasons at William & Mary stand as testament to the offensive lineman's productivity up front, but he has also impressed scouts with his performances in workouts leading up to the draft.

Grant is likely to be a second-round selection.

RB Sone Ntoh, Monmouth

Powerhouse running back Sone Ntoh put a stamp on Monmouth football history, becoming the second all-time in career rushing touchdowns over just two seasons as a Hawk.

Ntoh's 39 scores in 21 games came via just 165 total carries in 2023 and 2024. That's a boon to his draft stock, giving NFL front offices place a high premium on running backs' workload.

But more of a boost to Ntoh's pro prospects is his combination of physicality and breakaway speed. At 5-foot-11, 235 pounds, Ntoh can be a short-yardage bruiser but also has a demonstrated ability to burst through holes for long gains.

The nearby New York Giants are among the organizations rumored to be interested in Ntoh as a late-round choice.

S Wande Owens, New Hampshire

Wande Owens spent only one season at New Hampshire, transferring into the program after a successful tenure at Yale. Owens' All-Ivy League background translated immediately at UNH, as he shined in 2024.

Owens showed off an uncanny nose for the ball, bolstering the Wildcats run defense with 111 tackles. He thrived both as a back-line wall to limit ball-carriers and pass-catchers, and showed proficiency as a blitzing option with three tackles for loss and a sack.

Owens also delivered a pick-six to put a stamp on his sensational season in Durham.

A standout pro day has landed Owens on several teams' radars, including the Washington Commanders. He could be a late-round steal or an undrafted free agent who earns his way into a roster spot.

TE Carter Runyon, Towson

A 1st Team All-American in 2024, Carter Runyon proved himself to be the top tight end in the subdivision after beginning his college career at the Div. III level. In the run-up to the 2025 NFL draft, Runyan is also showing himself to be among the best tight ends in all of college football.

Runyon asserted himself the past two seasons as an elite pass-catcher, hauling in 43 and 45 receptions. He surpassed 500 yards in both 2023 and 2024 with an ability to hang onto catches in traffic on short-yardage and goal-line situations, and show off his speed to produce yards-after-catch.

At 6-foot-6 and almost 250 pounds, Runyon has the prototypical frame of a standout goal-line target tight end. He's also a solid run-blocker, which garnered him attention during East-West Shrine Bowl week.

CB Isas Waxter, Villanova

Following in the footsteps of current Buffalo Bills standout Christian Benford, Isas Waxter is poised to be Villanova's next defensive back to make a splash in the NFL.

Debuting at Villanova in 2019, Waxter broke out in 2021 with four pass break-ups for the Wildcats' playoff team. An injury sidelined him in 2022, but he returned for an outstanding 2023 and 2024 campaigns.

Waxter followed up his three-interception 2023 campaign with three forced fumbles in 2024. His ability to generate turnovers would be an asset to any secondary, but an NFL team looking for a big, physical defensive back in particular can hit a home run by adding Waxter.

RB Marcus Yarns, Delaware

Before it moves to FBS, Delaware ends its time as a CAA program and is on track to send one more Blue Hens standout to the NFL. Running back Marcus Yarns follows in the footsteps of Delaware stars like Joe Flacco and Bilal Nichols after an outstanding career in Newark.

Yarns ran into the offseason with a ton of momentum, eclipsing 100 yards in each of his final four games. He rushed for more than 800 yards with just 133 carries in 2024, building off of a 939-yard, 15-touchdown 2023.

With a proven two-way ability as a pass-catcher, Yarns can be a spark plug as a third-down and change-of-pace back in the NFL. He stands out as one of the most electric options in the latter rounds of this draft class.

QB Max Brosmer, New Hampshire*

Before a strong 2024 season with the Big Ten Conference's Minnesota Golden Gophers, Max Brosmer was a Walter Payton Award finalist for the New Hampshire Wildcats.

Brosmer brought much of the same playmaking ability that produced 3,464 passing yards in 2023 to Minnesota in 2024, throwing for 2,617 and 17 touchdowns against just five interceptions for the Golden Gophers.

Although widely projected as a day-three draftee, Brosmer's potential could put him in the second round of this draft. Quarterbacks with high ceilings come at a premium, and Brosmer is only beginning to show how high his ceiling goes after an impressive college career at two stops.

When Is The NFL Draft?

The 2025 NFL Draft is scheduled to take place from April 24-26 at Lambeau Field and its adjacent Titletown District in Green Bay, Wisconsin, home to the Green Bay Packers.

It is the first time that Green Bay has ever hosted the NFL Draft, which has been held every year since 1936. The Tennessee Titans, who finished with the league’s joint-worst record in the 2024 season at 3-14 overall, have the first overall pick.
