Northern Arizona and Queens (NC) are in the first round of the 2025 College Basketball Invitational. Here is a preview of both teams before the game.

The 2025 College Basketball Invitational begins on March 23 with multiple first-round games, one of which will feature Queens (NC) and Northern Arizona men's basketball.
Mid-major teams eagerly embrace the CBI tournament, seeing it as a chance to claim a postseason title after being left out of the excitement of the NCAA tournament.
Queens (NC) men's basketball had an above-average season, with a 19-14 record, among the best of the other first-round teams. Its biggest win of the season was against Florida Gulf Coast, a team in the CBI that received a bye to the quarterfinals, on Jan. 4, 92-83.

Royals' leading scorer, Leo Colimerio, was nearly unstoppable, scoring 35 points in 36 minutes on an efficient 12-15 shooting night and 6-8 from three. Queens (NC) also defeated the Eagles in the ASUN conference tournament.
Northern Arizona had its best win, ironically in the final regular season when they defeated Idaho State on the road, gaining a slim 82-79 win to head into the Big Sky tournament before the Lumberjacks lost the eventual conference champion, Montana.
Leading scorer Trent McLaughlin scored 21 points in that matchup and was assisted by other top scorers Carson Towt and Jayden Jackson, who also were in double figures.
