Illinois State men's basketball and Presbyterian are playing against each other on the opening day of the 2025 College Basketball Invitational on March 23.

However, most teams participating in the CBI usually don't have their season go as they would have liked, with not securing an NCAA tournament appearance after not making it far during the conference championships.

Presbyterian men's basketball's biggest win of the season, record-wise, came in the last game of the regular season against 20-9 UNC Asheville, their straight road win.

The Blue Hose would conclude by losing in the first round of the Big South Conference, which was won by High Point, which lost to Purdue in the NCAA tournament's round of 64.

For the Cardinals, Nov. 23 against UAB is the best win of the season. Although it was at the beginning of the season, this close 84-83 win against the eventual AAC runner-ups would prove to be a standout win nonetheless.

Illinois State was also in the first round of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, which saw Drake take and win its first game of the 2025 NCAA tournament.
