The 2025 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Tournament tips off on Friday, March 14, as regional tournaments begin throughout the country.

The NCAA DII Tournament will pit 64 teams against each other in a gauntlet of matchups, culminating in the Elite Eight showdown from March 24-28 in Pittsburgh, Penn., until a new NCAA DII Women's champion is crowned.

In the 2024 NCAA DII Tournament, Minnesota State was able to defeat Texas Woman's in the finals, winning its second national championship in program history.

The Mavericks beat the Pioneers 89-73, after a series of five-point and two-point games in the quarterfinals and semifinals led them to the finals.

Both teams are in the hunt for the championship title this year as well, with the Texas Woman's Pioneers favored to win it all.

The Pioneers sit as the No. 1 team in DII play, with an overall record of 31-1.

When Does the 2025 NCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Tournament Start?

The tournament begins on March 14 with regional games. The Elite Eight begins on March 24, the Final Four begins on March 26 and the National Championship is March 28 on ESPN+.
