We pulled the data from every 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championship national qualifier's athlete bio page from the school website and recorded the listed hometown and state. Below is a graph of all 330 national qualifiers by state. 

Pennsylvania leads the way as usual. Ohio, New Jersey and California are in the next tier of qualifiers. Overall 39 different states and three countries (Canada, Brazil and Belarus) had qualifiers.

But wait, what about the number of qualifiers from each state adjusted per capita? We have that too! Below is a list of states and the number of qualifiers per million inhabitants. 

No surprise to see Iowa at the top of this list. 

And now that the brackets and seeds are out, let's check out the projected NCAA points scored by states. 

Some states are qualifying more than they typically do. Over the past 25 years, Wisconsin has averaged 6.8 national qualifiers, while this year 14 cheese heads will be going to Philly. Last year was pretty good too, as 16 Wisconsinites went to the national tourney. 

California is sending about five more wrestlers to Philly than they usually do. Georgia, Minnesota, Indiana, Nebraska, Tennessee and Missouri also all qualified at least three more wrestlers than their 25 year average. 

On the flip side of things, Virginia, Oregon and Washington are all sending 3 or 4 fewer athletes than usual, while Pennsylvania, despite having the most qualifiers, is sending thirteen fewer keystoners than their 25 year average. I still expect Pennsylvania to have more All-Americans than any other state.
