As the tournament champions, Southern New Hampshire and Bentley earn the conference’s automatic bids to their respective Division II national tournaments.
Of the 64 teams headed to each NCAA Division II Basketball Championship, 23 spots are automatic bids given to the winners of the conference championships.
The selection show to announce the rest of the women’s field is set for Sunday at 10:30 p.m. Eastern, and the men’s selection show will follow at 11 p.m. EDT.
Men’s Final: Southern New Hampshire University 72, Pace University 71
The home victory for SNHU (21-8), the event’s No. 2 seed, was its second consecutive win at the NE10 Men’s Basketball Championship and fourth title overall. The first two came in 2013 and 2016.
Pace, the No. 5 seed this year, was making its first appearance in the NE10 championship game. The Setters now are 24-7 on the season and will have to wait until the selection show to see if their season will continue.
By successfully defending their NE10 title, the Penmen became the tournament’s seventh repeat champion and first since 2008.
The SNHU men have won 12 of their last 14 games and have cleared the 20-win mark for the third consecutive season.
Getting past Bentley in the semifinals Wednesday took a little bit of work, as Southern New Hampshire was down 11 points late in the second half, before escaping with a 58-56 win over the tournament’s No. 3 seed.

Women’s Final: Bentley 64, Assumption 54
Top-seeded Bentley entered the contest looking for a 26th consecutive win, the team’s third four-peat in the NE10 Women’s Basketball Championship, a 24th title overall and its 100th win all-time in the NE10 postseason.
And the Falcons came through, defeating the No. 6 seed, Assumption, 64-54 at home in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Though Bentley was down by seven points after the opening quarter, the Falcons outscored their opponents 17-6 in the second quarter to secure a lead they’d never give up.
