Finals Match Notes
285 lbs - Trevor Tinker, Cal Poly maj dec Jake Andrews, CSU Bakersfield 8-0
A stall call against Andrews was the first action of the period, but Tinker followed that with a snap, go-behind takedown to take a 3-0 lead and over a minute of riding time into the second period.
Andrews chose bottom in the second. Tinker earned another stall call against Andrews and a complete period rideout. He chose neutral to start the third.
A quick snap, go-behind makes it 7-0 for Tinker, and his riding time continues to climb. He rides out for the 8-0 major decision. With that victory, Tinker qualifies for NCAAs.

125 lbs -Maximo Renteria, Oregon State maj dec Koda Holeman, Cal Poly 11-2
Renteria took a 3-0 lead with a takedown around a minute into the first period. The Oregon State crowd is LOUD in their support of this lightweight. Holeman escaped 39 seconds later to make it 3-1. Holeman attacked, but Renteria ended up with a second takedown to extend his lead to 6-1. He ends the period with 59 seconds of riding time.
Holeman chose bottom and escaped in 10 seconds to make it 6-2. Holman took a hard shot, but a slick sprawl, go-behind makes it 9-2 for Renteria. He finishes the second on top.
Renteria starts the third on bottom. Oregon State is currently tied with Little Rock for second and half a point behind Cal Poly, so bonus points would be big here. Renteria escapes and it's 10-2. Renteria wins 11-2 with riding time and blows a series of kisses to the crowd. He's a PAC 12 champ and an NCAA qualifier.

133 lbs - Nasir Bailey, Little Rock dec Zeth Romney, Cal Poly 4-1 in OT
These two have wrestled twice this season, and each has a win. This rummer match comes with a conference title on the line. The first period was pretty measured from these familiar foes and ends scoreless.
Bailey chooses bottom and escapes in 7 seconds to take a 1-0 lead. That's the only point of the period. Romney took a couple of attacks, but he's also wary of Bailey's re-attacks.
Romney starts the third on bottom. Romney worked his way to his feet twice, but Bailey's wrist control has kept him on top. He has 31 seconds of riding time on a restart. Romney uses a standing granby to escape with riding time at 57 seconds. It's 1-1 with under 30 seconds to go.
In overtime, Bailey hits a double leg, forces a scramble, and earns the takedown. He wins the rubber match!

141 lbs - Nash Singleton, Oregon State FALL Brennan Van Hoecke, Little Rock
Singleton scored on a single leg and rode for 16 seconds. He leads 3-1 after the first.
Singleton chose bottom in the second and escaped in 3 seconds to make it 4-1. Singleton drives Van Hoecke off the mat and completely off the stage. Van Hoecke was hit for stalling in the process, and the Oregon State fans love it.
Van Hoecke chooses bottom in the third. The crowd erupts as Singleton's riding time goes over a minute. Singleton gets a turn and a FALL, and the home crowd goes insane! That could be big for the team race.

149 lbs - Jordan Williams, Little Rock maj dec Ethan Stiles, Oregon State 15-5
Half way through the first period, Williams secures a double leg to take a 3-0 lead. Stiles gets to his feet, and Williams is hit for stalling for running him out of bounds. On the restart, Stiles escaped to make it 3-1. Williams hits a single leg and limp-arms out of a whizzer to extend his lead to 6-1. Stiles escaped to make it 6-2. Riding time is at 28 seconds.
Williams will start the second on bottom. He escapes in 3 seconds. It's 7-2. Stiles shoots, earns a second stall call, and a scramble ensues. Neither guy can score. It's 7-3 after the stalling point.
Stiles starts the third on bottom. He escapes to make it 7-4. Williams picks Stiles up in a double, helicpoters, and drops him on the mat. He couldn't finish the initial attack but winds up with a cradle for another takedown and four nearfall! It's 14-4, and riding time is over a minute with 40 seconds left. They go out of bounds, and Stiles escapes on the restart. With riding time point, Williams wins 15-5.

157 lbs - Matty Bianchi, Little Rock dec Christopher Hamblin, Oregon State 6-4
Hamblin scores a takedown in the first period and Bianchi escapes. It's 3-1 headed to the second.
Bianchi starts the second on bottom and escapes in 6 seconds. It's 3-2. Bianchi takes a shot and gets to an ankle, but a scramble results in a stalemate. Bianchi gets to another shot near the edge, and Hamblin is hit for stalling as he dives out of bounds. Bianchi is in deep again but can't score as time expires.
Hamblin chooses bottom to start the third. Hamblin escapes, and riding time isn't a factor. He leads 4-2. In another scramble, Bianchi is awarded a neutral danger takedown. The Oregon State corner throws a challenge brick. The call is confirmed. Bianchi has his first lead of the match 5-4. Hamblin needs to escape to tie this match. Bianchi rides out, earns riding time, and wins 6-4 in a wild one!

165 lbs - Joseph Bianchi, Little Rock dec Luka Wick, Cal Poly 4-1 in OT
The first period was scoreless and largely uneventful. Bianchi took a deep attack late in the period but couldn't convert. Bianchi took bottom in the second and escaped in 5 seconds. Wick will start the third period on bottom. He's out in 18 seconds to make it 1-1. The head to overtime. Bianchi scrambles to a takedown in 41 seconds. Cal Poly challenges the call. They're looking it over after Bianchi got his hand raised.

174 lbs - Tyler Brennan, Little Rock maj dec Murphy Menke, Oregon State 11-0
Brennan used a first period takedown and rideout to take a 3-0 lead into the second. He built on that lead with an escape from bottom in the second followed by another takedown. With a 7-0 lead in the third, he earned a takedown for a major decision to lock up the team race for the Trojans.

184 lbs - TJ McDonnell, Oregon State dec Daschle Lamer, Cal Poly 8-5 in OT
Lamer scrambled his way to a takedown in the first and rode for around 30 seconds before McDonnell escaped. Lamer took bottom in the second and escaped quickly to make it 4-1. Lamer got deep on a single late in the second, but McDonnell scrambled his way to a stalemate. McDonnell chose bottom to start the third. Lamer rides for much of the third, but McDonnell finally escapes. He trails 4-2, and riding time is locked for Lamer. McDonnell shoots and scrambles to a takedown! with riding time, the score is 5-5! We're headed to overtime! McDonnell hits a beautiful double leg and secures a takedown just 11 seconds into OT. He's your PAC-12 champ!

197 lbs - AJ Ferrari, CSU Bakersfield dec Stephen Little, Little Rock 2-0
Ferrari gets deep on a single a minute into the period but can't finish. Little gets to an ankle on the edge late in the first. Ferrari puts his foot off the mat and is hit for stalling. No score after the first period.
Little starts the second on bottom. Little nearly gets off the edge of the mat, but Ferrari puts a tough ride on, and his riding time moves over a minute. CSU Bakersfield's coaches want Little to be hit for stalling as he works off the mat for the restart. Little enters concussion protocol with 21 seconds left in the period. After a long concussion protocol, Little is back. Ferrari completes the rideout and selects bottom in the third.
Ferrari escapes in 6 seconds and leads 1-0 with 1:54 of riding time. Ferrari takes Little off the mat with an underhook and earns a stall call. Little is being evaluated again by the trainer. Ferrari stays in good position and earns the 2-0 victory. He hits the splits and throws up the double birds!
