LSU Baseball Defeats DBU 7-3 With A Two-Run Homer From Daniel Dickinson

LSU Baseball defeats DBU 7-3 in a Top 25 clash. Daniel Dickinson led the Tigers to victory with a two-run homer and a strong showing from Derek Curiel.

LSU Baseball secured a dominant 7-3 victory over DBU in an exciting mid-week matchup at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX.

The No. 2 team in the country played its first game against a ranked team in Arlington, Texas as part of the College Baseball Showdown. The Tigers started the scoring early with an RBI double from Jared Jones but the action really got moving in the 5th.

Ethan Frey hit an RBI double to center field followed by a two-out, two-run homer to left from Daniel Dickinson to make the score 4-0.

LSU Baseball looked just as strong on defense. Conner Ware tossed for six punchouts across four innings, only allowing a single home run to Grant Jay before ending his time on the mound.

DBU Baseball got the bats swinging in the 5th scoring three runs, including the homer from Jay and a two-run bomb from Jake Bennett.

LSU added two more insurance runs in the sixth and Derek Curiel's smooth work on defense kept DBU's offense on ice. The Tigers advance to 8-1 with the lone loss coming at home against Omaha during a doubleheader on Feb. 22.
