Lee went on to attend college at Iowa, while DeSanto chose Drexel. DeSanto was kicked out of Drexel for behavioral issues, and Lee was quick to recruit him to Iowa.

Lee faced numerous injuries and scrutiny, while DeSanto wrestled with emotional control.

In the odds of their challenges, the duo was determined. Together, they would lead the Hawkeyes to their first NCAA team title in over a decade.
