Milwaukee (27-17-3-4) took the first game of the teams’ two-game series Friday night with a 6-2 victory. That win gave them a two-point lead on the Texas Stars for the Central Division lead, though the Stars do have five games in hand. Texas will host Colorado on Saturday night.
With two goals, Admirals defenseman Marc Del Gaizo was one of five Milwaukee skaters to record two points in Friday’s win. Saturday’s contest will wrap up a busy 3-in-3 stretches for the Admirals, who dropped a road game at Chicago on Thursday. Saturday's game will be Milwaukee's fourth in six days.
Friday’s loss stalled Henderson’s (20-29-2-0) bid to continue to make up ground for a Pacific Division playoff spot. Coming into their two-game trip to Milwaukee, they had won 11 of their past 14 games as they attempt to overcome a 9-25-0-0 start that had left them nearly buried through the first half of the season. They remain six points under the Pacific Division playoff line. Their 9-16-0-0 (.365) road record is the second-worst in the AHL this season.
The teams’ season series will conclude when the Silver Knights host Milwaukee on March 28-29.

Henderson Silver Knights (Vegas Golden Knights)
Akira Schmid took Friday’s start, allowing six goals on 29 shots. Carl Lindbom, a 21-year-old in his first AHL season, has shown well with an 11-9-1 | 2.74 | .913 line in 22 games for the Silver Knights; his save percentage leads all AHL rookie goaltenders. He recorded a 20-save win this past Wednesday night at home against Bakersfield, one of the clubs that the Silver Knights are pursuing for a playoff spot.
Calen Addison has anchored the Henderson blue line this season after signing an AHL deal Oct. 24. He played 72 games last season with the San Jose Sharks but struggled to find a contract and went to training camp with the Ottawa Senators before landing with the Silver Knights. Still only 24 years old and with 152 games of NHL experience, he has 3-25-28 in 45 games with Henderson.
Franchise fixture Gage Quinney (7-22-29) leads the Silver Knights in scoring. The team also got a boost up front as Alexander Holtz made his Silver Knights debut Friday with a 1-1-2 night. The 23-year-old came to the Golden Knights last June along with Schmid in a trade with the New Jersey Devils. Taken seventh overall by the Devils in the 2020 NHL Draft, he had 16-12-28 last season with New Jersey but had managed just 3-8-11 in 49 games this campaign for the Silver Knights.

After scoring 18 and 19 goals in his first two AHL seasons, respectively, 2020 first-round pick Brendan Brisson has seen his offensive production dip this season. The 23-year-old forward has 5-11-16 in 41 games and just one assist in his past nine outings. Undrafted forward Braeden Bowman has had an impressive rookie season with 12-16-28 in 48 contests.
The club is without top forwards Jonas Rondbjerg (8-10-18) and Raphael Lavoie (13-8-21), who remain on recall with the Golden Knights.
Milwaukee Admirals (Nashville Predators)
Admirals forward Grigori Denisenko made his home debut with Milwaukee on Friday night but his night ended early as he took a charging major and game misconduct for a hit on Henderson defenseman Artur Cholach late in the second period. He came to the Nashville organization in a trade with the Silver Knights this past Tuesday. In 42 games with Henderson, he had 10-14-24 and represented the club at the AHL All-Star Classic earlier this month.

AHL All-Star goaltender Matt Murray leads the AHL with a .930 save percentage and is third overall with a 2.17 goals-against average. He has gone 17-8-3, and his two shutouts this season have come in his past nine appearances. Magnus Chrona earned Friday’s win with a 21-save effort.

Rookie defenseman Ryan Ufko is one of only two Admirals to have played all 51 games this season. Just 21 years old, he joined the Admirals late last season following three seasons at UMass-Amherst, playing nine games and then another 15 in the Calder Cup Playoffs as the Admirals reached the Western Conference Finals. Del Gaizo, Stastney, and captain Kevin Gravel help to round out a deep top-four on the Milwaukee blue line.
Denisenko is one of several recent experienced additions to the Milwaukee line-up as the team has dealt with several recalls amid Nashville’s struggles this season. Nashville recalled forward Kieffer Bellows and defenseman Jake Livingstone from the Admirals before Friday’s game. Forwards Anders Bjork, Chase De Leo, and Scott Reedy have all come to Milwaukee as has defenseman Mark Friedman, who made his Admirals debut Friday.
Forward Cal O’Reilly, who became the ninth player to play 1,000 AHL games this past Thursday, ranks second in team scoring with 6-25-31 in 47 games at age 38. Bellows and Jake Lucchini each have a team-leading 14 goals. Another Admirals AHL All-Star is forward Joakim Kemell, whose 29 points tie him with both Bellows and Lucchini. Nashville selected Kemell, 20, in the first round of the 2022 NHL Draft.
