England Rugby Seize Calcutta Cup With Late Penalty To Defeat Scotland 16-15

England rugby clinched the Calcutta Cup in a nail-biting affair at Twickenham, defeating Scotland 16-15.

Scotland took an early lead through a try from Ben White, but England responded quickly with a score from Tommy Freeman. The teams traded penalties before Huw Jones crossed the line for Scotland. 

However, England's defense held firm through the second half, and Fin Smith's late long-range penalty proved the difference as the hosts edged out a tight contest.

Finn Russell missed a crucial conversion for Scotland, leaving them agonizingly close to snatching victory.

England defeat Scotland in a scorching match, securing the Calcutt Cup for the first time since 2020. 

Scotland lose after Finn Russell is unable to convert a difficult kick after an incredible try from Duhan van der Merwe. 

England had the lead at halftime, but it did feel like there was much more push and pull in the second half, with each team taking clawing at opportunities. 

England gets the win in the end, and it comes down to made penalties and conversions, truly.
