UCLA Softball had an extremely productive 2024, ending a 43-12 overall season with an appearance at the Women's College World Series.

This year, the Bruins have already won nine of their first 10 games, entering the Mary Nutter Classic with a single loss, hoping to lengthen their success.

Arkansas Softball ended its 2024 season at an NCAA Tournament with losses to Arizona and Villanova, fueling what has seemed like a comeback season in 2025.

The Razorbacks are undefeated coming into the 2025 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, showing no sign of slowing down. A highlight of their early-season is a fifth-inning win against Lipscomb 23-0.

For one team, another loss will have to be taken, with the unstoppable force of UCLA taking on the immovable object of Arkansas Softball at the Mary Nutter Classic on Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. ET.

Who Was Mary Nutter?

Mary Nutter was an All-American softball player and a pioneer in the sport. 

She was a coach at Pittsburgh State and was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 1988 and the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1997.

Nutter died in 2012.
