Quincy Wilson performed incredibly well at his first USA Indoor Track and Field Championships, finishing fifth in Sunday's 400m final.
The 17-year-old phenom ran a stellar 46.13 400m in the final after posting a 46.41 400m during Saturday's preliminary round.

This weekend's performances continue Wilson's stellar 2025 campaign. At the New Balance Grand Prix on Feb. 2, Wilson improved on his own high school national record and ran 45.66 over 400m.
He took another stab at that mark on Sunday, but in the talented field, he came up a little short.
Wilson split 21.75 through the first 200m, but found himself in heavy traffic. Going into the final curve, Wilson had to swing out to lane three to try to make up some ground on the field. In the end, he just ran out of time, crossing the line just behind Brian Faust in fourth (46.11).
Christopher Bailey (Tracksmith) was able to secure the win in an impressive 45.21. He was in third entering the final circuit, but was able to make up ground on the backstretch to put himself in position for the win. Jacory Patterson finished second with his 45.60 effort.
Earlier this year at the Arkansas Tyson Invitational, Bailey ran 44.70, the fifth-fastest indoor time in U.S. history.
In 2024, Wilson made national headlines by becoming the youngest American Olympic male track and field athlete in U.S. history. He followed that up by winning his first Olympic gold medal in the mixed 4x400m relay.
With his performance this weekend, Wilson is eligible for the world relay pool, though his selection is still in the air.
