UCLA Softball Beats 2 Ranked Teams After Run-Rule Win Over Nebraska
Starting pitcher Taylor Tinsley was dominant for UCLA and the hits and runs kept coming in the 6th to end the game against Nebraska.

Taylor Tinsley pitched six inning allowed three hits and struck out eight and freshman Aleena Garcia hit an RBI double and RBI triple as No. 4 UCLA beat No. 15 Nebraska on Feb. 20 in Cathedral City, Calif. at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.
It was the second win over a ranked team on the day as UCLA beat Missouri earlier in the evening.

UCLA, a veteran of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, is just getting started with four more games this weekend. The Bruins will play a top-1- ranked team in Tennessee at 12:30 p.m. ET on Friday.

UCLA Softball is no stranger to big games at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic and the Bruins second game of Day 1 will be showdown between two teams with dreams of finishing the season in Oklahoma City.
No. 15 Nebraska, who beat Baylor earlier in the day hung tough with UCLA until the fifth inning when the Bruins scored seven runs over the final two frames.
Nebraska will play No. 11 Duke at 4 p.m. ET on Friday.

Jordan Woolery hit an RBI double that ended the game with a run-rule, six-inning contest at 9-1.

Freshman Aleena Garcia, who hit a big triple earlier in the game, hit an RBI-double top extend the UCLA leads to four runs with one out.
Emmerson Cope is now pitching for the Huskers.
UCLA has added four runs in the inning how as they move closer to being 2-0 at Mary Nutter. There is only one out in the inning.
The Bruins have added another run with two outs.

Taylor Tinsley struck out two batters to end the frame after allowing a 1-out single. Tinsley now has eight strike outs on 116 pitches.

Taylor Tinsley left a runners stranded on first and second, but was able to get out of the winning with the lead intact for the Bruins.

Jordy Bahl vs. Kaitlyn Terry?
Two of the best pitchers in College Softball play for UCLA and Nebraska, but both pitched complete games in their first matchups of the day.
Jordy Bahl, who threw a no-hitter on Feb. 15, picked up the 4-1 over Baylor. Meanwhile Kaitlyn Terry humbled Missouri for seven innings.
Neither team has announced lineups yet.
UCLA Softball Beat Missouri SB In Mary Nutter Opener
Kaitlyn Terry struck out 13 batters and threw 7.0 innings as the Bruins beat No. 22 Missouri 4-1 in the first of six games the Bruins will play this weekend.

Big Ten Throw Down At Mary Nutter 2025
UCLA and Nebraska now share a conference and the two programs are about to play a lot more.
The Bruins lead the all-time series versus Nebraska, 17-1, dating back to 1984. Thursday will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools as Big Ten Conference-mates, however the game will not count towards the conference record.
UCLA and Nebraska most recently met at last year's Mary Nutter when UCLA rallied for five runs in the bottom of the seventh to walk-off, 9-8.
