About Arkansas Softball
The Arkansas softball team got out to a perfect start this season, going 10-0 across the Texas State Tournament in San Marcos, Texas, and LA Tech Tournament in Ruston, Louisiana.
It’s the best start in program history, actually.
The Razorbacks also were able to surge into the No. 10 spot on the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll, moving up from No. 13.
Arkansas is coming off a 37-18 season that ended with a win and two losses in the regional portion of the NCAA Division I Softball Championship.
This year’s appearance at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic is the team’s first since a 5-0 run at the event in 2018.

About UCLA Softball
UCLA is fresh off an appearance at the 2024 NCAA Women’s College World Series, but with the storied history of the program, just reaching the WCWS probably isn’t satisfying enough.
In their quest to get back there and claim a record-extending 13th national championship, the Bruins started 2025 at 9-1.
That loss, however, a 7-6 decision against Virginia on Feb. 16, was the last thing they'd remember heading into the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.
Was it going to be a momentum killer for the Bruins, or motivation to get back on track before the start of conference play, which will see UCLA makes its debut in the Big Ten as the favorite to win the conference title?
Last season, UCLA was 43-12 overall and 17-4 in its last season in the Pac-12. The Bruins were the Pac-12 regular-season and tournament champions, before seeing their campaign end with losses to Oklahoma and Stanford at the WCWS.
