The biggest game this past week in Division III men’s basketball was the No. 2 NYU vs. No. 5 Emory in a Valentine's Day matchup, which was perceived to be a great game among the best teams.

That would be exactly the case, as the game came down to the wire, with NYU coming out on top by three points to keep the No. 2 spot and the chances of potentially becoming the No. 1 team alive.

Although Emory was not heavily punished for losing to a top-two team, they still dropped two spots from their current position, which led to other teams around the top ten moving up. Texas Women's, Cal State-Dominguez Hills, and Bentley moved up instead.

New Teams Break Into The Top Ten

• Randolph-Macon and UW-La Crosse are the newest teams to make the top five after Hampden-Sydney and Emory took losses in their games.
• Trinity moved up four spots to be just outside the top five; Trine is now in the top ten after dropping to No. 9 last week. They are trying to climb their way back up the rank after being No. 2 late last month.
• Wisconsin Lutheran and St. John's are two teams that are now on the outside looking in after being in the top ten last week.
