So Far This Weekend In Arizona
Oregon State is the only team with two wins of the four teams at the College Baseball Classic.
After falling behind briefly, the Beavers surged late in the game with three home runs in two innings against the Musketeers on Friday. Xavier was projected to finish second behind UConn in the Big East preseason coaches poll. Saturday afternoon, Oregon State followed up their rallying win with a completely one-sided game against UNLV, winning 16-0.
AJ Singer continued to make an impact, the junior shortstop earned 3 hits and 4 RBIs.
Indiana Baseball enters today's matchup with a chip on their shoulder, losing to both Xavier and UNLV earlier this weekend. After UNLV opened the game with a grand slam, the Hoosiers were unable to claw back more than two runs.
Against Xavier, the Hoosiers' Jasen Oliver hit a three runs home run in the ninth inning to tie the game at six. In extra innings, the Musketeers scored two runs to give them the lead. Indiana's four errors were a major issue for the team on Saturday.
