Pennsylvania men’s lacrosse kicks off their 2025 season at Cooper Field in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Feb. 15, facing No. 14 Georgetown.
Penn enters the season ranked No. 13 in the nation, with several key players to watch, including defender Brendan Lavelle, named to the USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American first team, and goalkeeper Emmet Carroll, also a first-team selection.
No. 14 Georgetown, with a record of 1-1 in the 2025 season, is coming off a 6-11 loss to No. 4 Johns Hopkins, and they will be eager to bounce back against Penn. The Hoyas are led by attacker Aidan Carroll, who was an honorable mention for the USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American list.
Georgetown will look to build on their strong performance in 2024, where they made it to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals before being ousted by eventual champion Notre Dame. A rematch with the Fighting Irish is set for next week.
