Grand Slam Track Announces First Challengers For Kingston Slam

Olympic Champion Hansle Parchment, World Champion Danielle Williams, four other Jamaicans announced as Challengers for Grand Slam Track's first Slam.

Grand Slam Track today announced the first group of Challengers signed to compete in the Kingston Slam, set for April 4-6th, at National Stadium, Kingston, Jamaica.

The Challengers the league announced today are all Jamaican competitors including:

  • Hansle Parchment, Men's Short Hurdles, Tokyo Olympic Champion - 110m hurdles
  • Danielle Williams, Women's Short Hurdles, Budapest World Champion - 100m hurdles
  • Malik James-King, Men's Long Hurdles, Jamaican National Champion - 400m hurdles
  • Alana Reid, Women's Short Sprints, World U20 Champion - 100m & 4x100m relay
  • Orlando Bennett, Men's Short Hurdles, Olympic Finalist - 110m hurdles
  • Shiann Salmon, Women's Long Hurdles, Olympic Finalist - 400m hurdles

These Challengers join the roster of 48 Racers already announced to compete, including Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Gabby Thomas, Melissa Jefferson, Masai Russell, Alexis Holmes, Quincy Hall, Fred Kerley, Kenny Bednarek, Cole Hocker, Yared Nuguse, Grant Fisher, Josh Kerr, and more.

More Challenger announcements will be made leading up to the event. 

What Is Grand Slam Track?

Grand Slam Track, created by four-time Olympic gold medalist Johnson, will feature four track events -- AKA Slams -- in 2025 where signed Racers and appearing Challengers will compete head-to-head in two events over the two-days Slams. Racers will receive base compensation for competing in each Slam and can earn additional prize money based on their performances.

96 total athletes -- 48 Racers and 48 Challengers -- will compete in each Slam. Grand Slam has a prize pot of $12.6 million and the Category winners of Slam will win $100,000.
