Washburn and Daemen easily survive again to remain Division II men's basketball's only undefeated teams after they played two more conference opponents, gaining lopsided wins.

Alabama Huntsville men's basketball and Nova Southeastern are still among the other three teams inside the top five, staying at the three and four spots, respectively, but a new team is joining them at five.

CSOM and Valdosta State men's basketball bounced back to gain some ground back in the rankings, improving their winning streaks to three and four games, rounding the end of the last month of the regular season.

Biggest Riser: Columbus State

  • The Cougars have moved from No. 20 to No. 14, jumping into the top 15. They have collected their third straight win, increasing the team's lead in the Peach Belt Conference.
  • In both games last week, Columbus State needed great late-game execution after defeating Georgia Southwestern State and North Georgia by three points. It also picked up a win yesterday, Feb. 10, over Flagler in a rescheduled game from January.

Largest Droppers: Missouri S&T And Lake Superior State

  • Missouri S&T has dropped out of the top five after sitting on the spot for most of the last few months. It lost by 15 points to Upper Iowa, taking its first GLVC loss of the season.
  • A big part of why the Miners lost was that they nearly allowed two 30-point scorers. Forwards Kyle Hrncir and Nick Reid combined for 63 points of the team's 100 total points. Hrncir had 35, while Reid had 28.
  • Over in the GLAIC, Lake Superior State fell after losing the battle of the Lakers with Grand Valley State on Feb. 6 by three points on the road in a close game. Coming into the game, GVSU men's basketball was 10-10 overall and 6-6 in conference play.
