How To Watch Cal Vs. Washington At 2025 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic

One cool thing about softball on the West Coast is that fans on the other side of the country can climb into bed and wind down their days watching some of the best teams in the nation do battle at the prestigious Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

Among the late-night contests that will be part of the 2025 Mary Nutter will be a Feb. 21 showdown between California and Washington. They’ll get underway at 11:30 p.m. Eastern.

The 2025 edition of the Mary Nutter is taking place at the Big League Dreams Complex in Cathedral City, California, from Feb. 20-23.

Cal is coming off a 37-19 season (9-13 in Pac-12 play) that ended with a quick exit from the regional round of the 2024 NCAA Division I Softball Championship.

Prior to reaching the postseason bracket, the Golden Bears fell to Stanford in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Softball Championship, which was won by UCLA.

Cal has won 11 consecutive games at the Mary Nutter dating back to 2020, and the Golden Bears will be looking to continue that streak in 2025.

After the first weekend of play in the new campaign, Cal is 3-2. The Golden Bears opened the year at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Arizona, where they defeated Minnesota, Utah and Maryland, while falling to Maryland and Arizona State.

Washington is trying to continue the momentum of a 32-15 season that was a little bit disappointing where it counted most. The Huskies were 13-10 in the Pac-12 Conference, which was third in the standings.

The year ended with quick exits from the Pac-12 Tournament and the regional round of the NCAA Division I Softball Championship.

In 2025, Washington is celebrating its inaugural campaign in the Big Ten and receiving votes in the preseason ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25.

The new era started with a weekend at the Candrea Classic in Tucson, Arizona, where the Huskies were 2-3. They defeated Arizona and Western Michigan, while falling to Alabama (twice) and Arizona.

Cal was 5-0 at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in 2024, and Washington did not participate.

The 2025 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic will feature 31 teams, headlined by Tennessee, Nebraska and Utah.
