OSU and LA Tech met in Puerto Vallarta on Friday, Feb. 7, both looking to gain another early-season win.

Each team had come off a win on Thursday, Feb. 6, at the first day of the 2025 PVCC tournament. LA Tech was able to overtake Northern Colorado with a solid 9-4 win, while OSU recorded its first top-ranked win of the season against Florida State.

LA Tech Softball had taken a loss to Florida State earlier in the day, but was ready to redeem itself. After taking an early 4-0 lead in the 2nd, LA Tech pitcher Allie Floyd led the charge, holding OSU to a single run the entire game. An extra two runs in the 6th would give LA Tech insurance, though they wouldn't need it.

As the final hit popped into the air, LA Tech was ready to call it a day, fielding the ball and closing out the game with a win against OSU, 6-1.
