Big Ten Baseball Preview 2025: New Member Oregon Baseball The Favorite
Oregon Baseball enters its first Big Ten season as the favorite, but Indiana Baseball is poised for a big season behind Devin Taylor.
In the first year of their Big Ten experience, the Oregon Baseball team is one of the favorites to win the league according to D1Baseball.
The Big Ten Conference did not release an official coaches poll to start the season, but D1 Baseball projects that Oregon, Nebraska, Indiana, Penn State and Michigan will advance to the NCAA Tournament as regional teams.
The Ducks are trying to become the Big Ten member to win the College Baseball World Series since Ohio State did it in 1966.

That said, with Southern California joining the Big Ten, the league now boasts a 12-time national champion in the sport. That is the most in college baseball.

Indiana, meanwhile, has a player many expect to be taken very high in the draft, including FloBaseball. Devin Taylor, the odds-on-favorite to win the Big Ten Player of The Year Award, is among the top prospects in all of baseball eligible for the 2025 MLB Draft.
Grayson Grinsell of Oregon is the preseason Big Ten Pitcher of the Year, according to D1 Baseball while Michigan freshman Grant Bradley is the preseason Freshman of the Year.
Massive Showdown Between Indiana Baseball vs. Oregon State In Week 1
Indiana will open the season at the Baseball Classic in Surprise, Ariz. against the likes of Xavier, UNLV and Oregon State. The Beavers-Hoosiers is a top 25 matchup according to some polls, including the Baseball America poll which has Oregon State at No. 9 and Indiana at No. 25.

Ohio State and Michigan baseball are headed to Arlington with Michigan playing in Week 2 and Ohio State Week 3.

Where Is The 2025 College Baseball Showdown?
The Shriners Children’s College Showdown and two-weekend Amegy Bank College Baseball Series presented by Kubota will take place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, and feature some of the top teams in the nation.
The 2025 season will mark the fifth consecutive year of college baseball at Globe Life Field – home of the world champion Texas Rangers – and the second straight year the action will span three weekends.
When Is The College Baseball Showdown?
The first weekend of the festivities, the Shriners Children’s College Showdown, will begin on Friday, Feb. 14 and will run through Feb. 16.
The following two weeks of action, the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series, will take place Feb. 21-23 and Feb. 28-March 2.
To keep the momentum going between the weekends, the series also will include four midweek games at Globe Life Field. Those contests will take place Feb. 18, Feb. 19, Feb. 26 and March 5.
