Huw Jones' hat trick heroics secured Scotland's win over Italy and earned him FloRugby’s Guinness Six Nations Player of the Week for Round 1.

When Scotland needed a hero in its Guinness Six Nations opener against Italy, Huw Jones answered the call.
With the score locked at 19-19 at Murrayfield just past the hour mark, the tension in the stands was palpable.
Scotland had dominated possession and territory, scoring three impressive tries, yet costly penalties allowed Italy’s Tommaso Allan to keep the Azzurri level with accurate kicking from the tee.

Enter Jones.
The Glasgow Warriors center, formerly of the Stormers and Harlequins, already had showcased his finishing ability early in the match.
Keeping pace with winger Duhan van der Merwe down the left flank, Jones was on-hand to finish off a slick team move inside the first 10 minutes. But it was his second-half heroics that proved decisive.
His second try was crafted by the dazzling footwork of Darcy Graham. The winger weaved through the Italian defense, and Jones, showing the awareness that has become his trademark, provided the perfect supporting line to cruise over the whitewash.
If his second try was a formality, his third was a moment of individual brilliance.
Confronted by three Italian defenders, Jones stepped inside Paolo Garbisi and Monty Ioane with a sharp right-foot move, before holding off Michele Lamaro to stretch over and score. The try sealed Scotland’s victory and underlined Jones’ match-winning credentials.
“He has improved so much in both attack and defense,” former Scotland prop Peter Wright said. “He's always there, he's always on a shoulder and he always takes defenders away from other people.”
Jones’ standout performance was enough to earn him FloRugby’s Guinness Six Nations Player of the Week for Round 1.
His three-try display not only secured a crucial win for Scotland, it also reaffirmed his status as one of the most dangerous attacking centers in the competition.
As the Six Nations progresses, Scotland will look to Jones to continue his electric form. If his opening-round exploits are anything to go by, defenders across Europe will have their hands full trying to contain him.
