Minnesota Powerhouses #4 Mounds View vs #2 Simley Live On FloWrestling
Minnesota's #4 (AAA) Mounds View takes on #2 Simley (AA) on Thursday, January 30 at 7 p.m. CT on FloWrestling Night In America.

Talk about storylines. The Mounds View vs Simley dual on Thursday, January 30 at 7 p.m. CT has plenty. And it’s all part of FloWrestling Night in America LIVE on FloWrestling.
Jim Short, a 1965 state runner-up for Mounds View, started the Simley wrestling program in 1970. He passed it on to his son, Will, who is currently a co-head coach for the team.
Dan Engebretson leads Mounds View, and two of his assistants are familiar wrestling names. Marty Morgan was a 1991 NCAA champion and long-time assistant for Minnesota and Jeff Swenson led Division III Augsburg to 10 NCAA titles. Both have sons currently competing on the team.
Will Short and Morgan were Golden Gopher teammates under J Robinson.
Surely you’ve heard of Penn State NCAA champion Greg Kerkvliet. He wrestled at Simley, as did 14 other current college wrestlers. The program has produced 17 Minnesota state team titles and 74 individual state champions.
Mounds View has four current college wrestlers and is seeking its first state team championship.
#2 (AA) Simley fell to #4 (AAA) Mounds View last season, so this is an opportunity to get one back in its home gymnasium.
