BYU softball is entering its second year in the Big 12 and will compete in the second session of the 2025 Puerto Vallarta College Challenge on Feb. 12-15.

This will be the second of four tournaments the Cougars are participating in to start its season, as they will be in the La Jolla Invitational before the challenge, the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, and Stanford Tournament after.

Since the challenge's first annual edition in 2015, BYU has participated in it five times, including that first year, 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2023.

In that last appearance, BYU went 2-2, losing to North Carolina and Maryland in five innings and collecting wins over Wisconsin and North Dakota State in five innings. The Cougars have also had players make the All-Tournament team since it first became an honor in 2017.

Feb. 13 

• 4 p.m. – BYU vs. Illinois State

Feb. 14

• 8:30 p.m. – Boise State vs. BYU

Feb. 15

• 1 p.m. – Indiana vs. BYU
• 4 p.m. – BYU vs. Florida International
