There is a new king of the jungle in Division III Men's Basketball, as former No. 1 UW-Platteville lost that privilege with a six-point loss to a 9-8 UW-Whitewater team.

With that loss, a shift in rankings was inevitable, as it caused teams to rise and new teams to take over as the best.

Here is everything about this week's Division III men's basketball rankings.

New Top Two Teams

• Wesleyan and Trine are now the top teams in the Division III rankings. Emory also lost to then-No. 11 Washington U. men's basketball by 18 points on its home floor.
• The difference between the two new top teams being ranked No. 1 came down to two votes, but considering the undefeated season, Wesleyan is currently having the Cardinals get the nod.
• In its first game as a top-two team, Wesleyan has the biggest game, with a battle on Jan. 31 against No. 9 Tufts.

No. 18 WPI Knocks In 17 Threes

• On Jan. 21, WPI exploded on the road against MIT, making 17 three-pointers in a massive 104-67 win. Three different players hit at least three plus threes.
