Texas Longhorns Softball: What To Know In 2025
The 2025 season sees the Texas Longhorns in a new conference, but expect similar success for Reese Atwood and Co.
Since the program launched in 1997, Texas Longhorns softball has been a consistent contender both in the Big 12 Conference and on the national scene. Texas takes its impressive resume of 24 NCAA Tournament appearances, five regular-season conference titles and four conference tournament championships to a new league in 2025.

The Longhorns begin coach Mike White's sixth full season at the helm as newcomers to the Southeastern Conference, the best top-to-bottom league in the sport. Although the SEC features plenty of national championship contenders — including Longhorns rival Oklahoma, which has monopolized the national title in recent years — Texas figures to be among the teams vying for the conference crown.

Who Coaches Texas Softball?
After 22 seasons as the only head coach Texas softball had ever known, Connie Clark retired in 2018. Taking the reins was Mike White, the coach at Oregon from 2010-2018. The Ducks won five Pac-12 regular-season championships in White's tenure and reached the Women's College World Series five times.
In his time at Texas, White has 260-81-2 with a pair of WCWS trips.
Has Texas Softball Ever Won The Women’s College World Series?
